How we handle Scripture
The Bible is not a book to be quoted carelessly. Here is how Faithero content is researched, written, checked and updated, and the convictions behind every page.
Four principles that guide every page
Scripture is the standard
Every claim is tested against the Bible. We cite chapter and verse. Where translations differ, we note it. Where Scripture is silent, we say so.
Checked against the text
King James and Douay-Rheims quotations are checked word for word against the Bible text in the Faithero app. Pages that quote the NIV carry the notice Biblica requires.
Honest about disagreement
Where the historic Christian tradition has held different views (baptism modes, eschatology), we represent each position fairly rather than impose one.
Updated and dated
Every post shows when it was published and when it was last updated. When something needs fixing, we fix it and change the date.
How we make each page
Every long-form article on Faithero passes through five stages before publication.
- ResearchWe start from the Bible passages themselves, then historic sources such as the creeds, Augustine and Spurgeon.
- WriteWe write in plain language, cite every verse with book, chapter and verse, and say where Christian traditions differ.
- Check the referencesWe confirm each reference points to the passage it quotes, and that every link on the page works.
- Check the quotesKing James and Douay-Rheims quotations are checked word for word against the Bible text in the Faithero app.
- PublishThe article is published with the date it first went up and the date it was last updated.
What we won't do
The negative side of editorial integrity matters as much as the positive.
- We do not cherry-pick verses to support a position. Every Scripture reference is shown in context.
- We do not claim to settle disputes the Church has not settled in 2,000 years.
- We do not present opinion as doctrine, or doctrine as opinion.
- We will publish corrections promptly when we are wrong, and date the correction.
