When listening helps
Some days the Bible is easier to hear than to read: on a walk, in the car, while you cook, or at the end of a long day when your eyes are tired. Listening also helps with books that are hard going on the page; hearing a whole letter of Paul at once shows how it hangs together.
At bedtime, start a Psalm or a Gospel chapter, set the sleep timer, and let it be the last voice of the day. Our evening and bedtime prayers go well with it. If you are working through a plan, open each day's passage from our reading plans and have it read to you.
Faithero's Bible Guide can read its answers aloud too, so you can ask a question about what you just heard and listen to the answer. More about the Bible Guide.
Frequently asked
Is it a recorded narrator?
No. Faithero reads the Bible with the voices built into your iPhone, the same voices iOS uses to read text aloud. For a more natural sound, you can download a free Enhanced or Premium voice in your iPhone’s Settings, under Accessibility, then Spoken Content, then Voices, and choose it in Faithero.
Which Bibles can I listen to?
In English, the King James Version and the Douay-Rheims. Faithero also has the Reina-Valera 1909 (Spanish), the Bíblia Livre (Portuguese), the Luther 1912 (German), the Russian Synodal and the Arabic Van Dyck; each is read with your iPhone’s voices for that language.
Can I listen to the KJV without an internet connection?
Yes. The King James Version is built into the app and your iPhone’s voices are on the device, so the KJV can be read aloud without a connection. Other Bibles download once, then stay on your iPhone.
Can I fall asleep listening to the Bible?
Yes. Set the sleep timer for 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes, or to stop at the end of the chapter, and lock your screen. Our evening and bedtime prayers pair well with it.
Does Faithero work on iPad?
Yes, on iPhone and iPad with iOS 26 or later. An Android version is coming to Google Play.
How much does it cost?
Faithero is a paid app. It starts with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan; after that, a yearly, monthly or weekly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. You see the price in the app before you pay.
