Bible Reading Plans for the year ahead

Simple Bible reading plans: one short reading a day, for Advent, for Lent, or for the whole year ahead.

About this collection

A reading plan does one thing well: it decides what to read today, so you can spend your few minutes reading rather than choosing. Each plan here is a list of short passages, about five minutes a day, in an order that makes sense of the story.

Start with the season you are in. If you have never read the Bible through, the chapter-a-day plan starts with the Gospel of John, the gentlest way in.

Frequently asked

How long does each reading take?

Most days take about five minutes: a short passage or one chapter. Read it slowly, or listen to it, and stop to pray about one thing it shows you.

What if I miss a day?

Skip it, or read two passages the next day. A plan is a help, not a test. Starting again tomorrow matters more than catching up.

Which Bible should I read these plans in?

Any translation you understand well. The quotations on these pages are from the King James Version (KJV), which is in the public domain and is the English Bible built into the Faithero app.

Are these plans in the Faithero app?

Not as plans. Faithero builds its own short daily plan from a few questions: a verse each morning and a chapter each night. You can open any passage from these plans in the app and read it, or have it read aloud.

Read or listen to each day’s passage

Faithero reads any chapter aloud, verse by verse, and gives you its own short plan: a verse each morning and a chapter each night.
